I haven't been in the windy city since 1963. I searched Yelp and found this gem. What a wonderful surprise it was. This is authentic Polish food. It brought back memories of of my youth. The food is great. The service was over the top. If I ever get back to Chicago I will go out of my way to eat here again.

This little restaurant opened its doors in May of 2017. Brain and brawn behind this cozy little place are mother and 2 daughters, formerly of "Smakosz" in Jefferson Park neoghbourhood. Being somewhat of an expert in Polish cuisine (12 years in Poland and 16 in second largest "Polish city"), I must admit that Polish House exceeded my expectations. Good old home cooking with interesting presentation and delivery. Even chicken soup (which I am not big fan of) tasted better with lamb dumplings! They will see me quite often in the future. Update: Today I was adventureous and decided to try Veal meatloaf stuffed duck (never was a bigfun of duck). Very pleasantly (and delicious) sirprise!

Great little Polish cafe. Me and a friend ate here, having two big meals, and our bill was just under $30. Everything is good, especially the bread and the sauerkraut.
